I can’t believe the time has finally come. I’m so thrilled to announce my first ever solo exhibition at @acansagallery ! I’ve had the pleasure of showing there in group shows before, and now I’m beyond honored and excited for the opportunity to bring all of my work together for a cohesive and immersive show. The reception is November 21st, and it will also be the official release of 2FarOut Issue #2! Zines, stickers and prints will all be available for purchase on the night of the reception.

• The zine will include one or two pages of yearbook pictures depending on the number of submissions.
• You can either submit an image of yourself or a drawing/description of an original character to be included VIA DM to this account! 💫
• I’m still deciding on if I’ll be doing names. In case I do, you can put either your real name or a made up name, or a combination of the two. (Keep in mind this will be printed and distributed!)
• Have fun creating your own place in this universe!!

‼️ PLEASE NOTE: the setting of 2FO is distinctly retro with a variety of decades as its influences. Not to mention… they’re aliens. Certain things such as hairstyle or clothing might be altered to fit the universe. If you have ideas for those changes, let me know and I’ll see if it can be applied! I usually don’t paint anything super personal to me but once I got this idea I couldn’t pass it up!! This is inspired by an astronaut helmet on a shelf right next to my desk that gives the perfect view of my little studio. This is where I happily spend most of my time at home listening to music or videos and painting away (and yet it still takes me months to finish one little painting)
I’m super curious to see all the details people can point out so let me know what your favorites are! This is nearly an exact mirror of my room minus a few little details. Plus unfortunately I’m not actually green :(
You’ll have the chance to see this in person later this year which I can’t wait to talk more about! ⭐️

Every shirt is hand dyed with love by Kristin and Martha, then handed over to me to print! The Little Rock Pride design has been revamped to best fit a shirt format with an extra homage to our collaboration. Rainbow tie dye not your thing? Keep an eye out for future announcements!

I have been DYING to share this for a while now and i'm so excited it's done!
Towards the beginning of the year, as many of us did/do, I struggled deeply (and still do) with the events unfolding around me. I desperately needed an outlet, a beacon of love and a celebration of humanity; so I turned to art in a way I never have before. Up until this point, despite my dreams to, I've never been able to do something like this and use my passions to support my community. I'm so honored and grateful to be doing it now. My city is so full of talent, community, support and love, and I'm grateful to be a part of it. All profit from these print and sticker sales will be donated to InTransitive, an amazing local organization supporting queer Arkansans. their work has never been MORE important. Could I have waited until June? Maybe. But PRIDE NEVER STOPS !

It’s been a couple months in the making but my most recent project is done! (And miraculously actually in time for halloween)
This painting was extremely fun and emotionally fulfilling to do!! I wanted to do my own take on nostalgic Halloween experiences and ‘retro’ festive illustrations but with my little guys, probably in their tweens circa something close to the late 70’s with costumes to match. I feel like I say this about every painting with them but I like to imagine what they’re saying. During the painting process I can’t help but see them walking and talking in my head and dishing little jabs out to each other. Anywho. Sized 11x17 made using watercolors and a bit of pencil and gouache for some details that I couldn’t be bothered adding during the sketch. Speaking of, I just realized I forgot to add the fringe to Andy’s costume. Oops.
I plan on going more into this with a blog post of some process pictures and maybe even a little short story if time allows, but for now this is all I got! Not my favorite painting ever but it holds a very special place in my heart for being centered around my absolute favorite time of year. :)

“The Vega’s Back Room and the Rest of the World” 💫
I’m honestly not sure how to begin describing what this painting is to me. I was asked to be a part of a comic book inspired group show a few months ago and came up with the idea almost immediately. I used pictures that I’ve taken on my canon owl shot at shows for almost two years now as inspiration and references, and embedded in this painting are performers I admire, dear friends, and cherished memories. (Maybe I’ll end up sharing a collection of all the references?) I wanted to capture the wonder of discovering any live music scene for the first time but especially anything under the ‘alternative’ umbrella! I still remember my first show at Vino’s. My buddy Will took me. The room was absolutely packed and we had to walk to the bank and back in the pouring rain to get cash cause we didn’t want to lose our already questionable parking spot. I remember Zilla and Brother Tongue played and they instantly became favorites! Live music has been one of the most important things in my life ever since. When weeks dragged on and I didn’t have anything in the near future to look forward to, at least there was a show. When I’ve questioned my place here, there were smiling faces and fist bumps and conversations over whatever wild selection of music Jackson or Justin were playing. I’ve gotten to combine that love with my own passions by making flyers for some of my favorite local musicians (with plenty more on the way) as well as getting to spend my birthday seeing them perform with some of my dearest friends, and I just can’t describe my gratefulness. Little Rock has so much to offer artistically and in its community and I hope I could convey even a little bit of that! Alright enough with the sap, I’ll shut up now! At the end of the day it’s just a painting and here it is! 🤘 oh yeah by the way I have 11x14 and 18x24 prints if anyone wants one!

FINALLLYYYY getting around to posting this guy! I finished it toward the beginning of the month after quite a while of fighting with almost every aspect of it, but I’m happy to say it’s grown on me a lot. I remember telling family members about the idea over the holiday and them really liking the idea and now it’s finally done! One of my gripes however is that I kindaaaa messed up the finish on it (a lesson in patience). I might try to re-wax it sometime soon but part of me sort of likes the old, dusty appearance it gives it.
Making paintings for these concepts and ideas have been so fulfilling and I can’t wait to make and share more!! 👾 P.S. prints are available!!

Video fever 👾 here’s a quick painting I did for my zine (hopefully releasing this month) I used a picture I took on my first roll of film as a reference. Some friends and I dressed up and went to an arcade for my birthday! It’s always been one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken :) I used black paper and a white sharpie acrylic ink marker for the background paper, and acrylic gouache for the foreground. The figures were cut from a different piece of paper and stuck on, as well as part of a cabinet in the foreground making for 3 individual layers in total. LOVED doing this one!

Here’s a quick painting I did a few days ago in acrylic gouache. It was my first time using it and definitely not my last! I especially like how it looks like fashion illustrations that you’d find in magazines (sorta that Patrick Nagel style) This will be included in the zine along with a couple other paintings in a similar style, taking pictures of friends I’ve taken and turning them into my aliens :) Thanks to everyone for the support of my zine!! 💚💚
